April 2021 Update: Joey has been adopted and is doing wonderfully!
I originally met Joey in July 2020, which is when these pictures were taken. But she never did find her forever family so I wanted to do what I can to try and help her! You see, Joey has been at the Perth Amboy Animal Shelter for years – almost 4 years to be more accurate.
No dog should ever be in a shelter for that long. While she is well cared for – it is still a cell with a concrete floor and not enough love (although the shelter staff loves on her as often as they can).
So, if you are in the area – and can give this beautiful girl a home, please contact the shelter!
She does need to be an only dog and would probably be better in a home with older kids, but the reward of her love will be worth it!
She is a middle aged girl with a beautiful round body that is perfect for snuggling. She is a sweet girl who will need plenty of time to decompress so she can trust and feel safe – but once she does, watch out because she will be a snuggle-bug!
